Vice President Harris pledged that, “building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency.” As vice president, she helped raise wages and create good-paying jobs. Her efforts have strengthened labor rights and expanded opportunities for workers to join unions and negotiate better contracts. In 2024, Harris announced a proposal to remove medical debt from credit reports and new measures to reduce child care costs, while making it easier for hundreds of thousands of families to access child care assistance. As president, we know she will continue to build a fair economy in which all families can thrive.
